Alex Pritchard says the players need to stand up and believe in their quality as they go into Saturday’s game against Queens Park Rangers.

Town travel to the capital for their second Sky Bet Championship game of the season looking to respond from the opening day defeat to Derby County, with Town’s Number 21 stating that the players need to have their full focus on Saturday’s game:

“Obviously you want to start the campaign with a win, and at half time when you’re 2-1 down you think ‘Okay, let’s at least try and get a draw’ but we didn’t, and now we need to move on quickly because the games are coming thick and fast.”

The trip to QPR will see Alex Pritchard go up against one of his former managers, having played under Mark Warburton at Brentford during the 2014/15 season; finishing 5th in the Sky Bet Championship. Pritchard was in no shock that they got off to such a good start at Stoke City last Saturday:

“It’ll be tough. I played under their manager at Brentford and it wasn’t a shock to me when you see that they beat Stoke away from home. It’s going to be difficult, especially because their tails will be up and they want to move on, especially with a good win away at Stoke.

“It’s going to be difficult, but we just have to stand up to that and believe in our quality, that we are better than them and we have to show that we are better and get three points.”

Pritchard finished by saying that the players have to put in a solid performance for the travelling Town supporters, beginning with a strong start to the game:

“We’ve got to go there and put in a better 15 minutes than we did at home against Derby. I think - try and shut their crowd up a little bit and give our crowd something to shout about and celebrate.

“The fans, they have a right to have a moan and groan, that’s fine, we can take that; but they’re still cheering us on & they’re still there in their numbers. What’s it going to be like when we are winning or when we are giving them something to shout about? It’s going to be something that as a team we need; we need that.

“We need some wins under our belt, get some momentum and you never what can happen.”
