- Comments from Head Coach Jan Siewert

Jonathan Hogg has put pen-to-paper on a new contract at Huddersfield Town!

The 30-year-old midfielder, who serves as Vice Captain to Christopher Schindler, has been a key figure on the pitch for the Terriers since joining the Club from Watford in 2013.

Now he has extended his stay with Town until June 2021, with the Club having the option of a further year’s extension.

‘Hoggy’, who was named Players’ Player of the Year in the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship promotion season, has made nearly 200 appearances for the Club, with supporters taking to his all-action, tough-tackling style from day one.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert commented:

“I’m proud that we are able to keep Jonathan Hogg here at Huddersfield Town, because he is someone who has been at the core of this Club for a long time now.

“We all know this is one of the most difficult transfer windows that this Club has faced in a long time, as we had to be prepared for some players who may leave. To keep someone who is as important as Jonathan here is a real success for us.

“As everyone knows, ‘Hoggy’ embodies everything that this Club is about; real spirit, a never-say-die attitude, a proper desire to win and real quality, too.”

Jonathan signed a three-year contract upon joining Town in the summer of 2013 and immediately established himself as a regular, adding to his extensive previous experience of the second tier with Portsmouth and Watford.

He’s made 216 Sky Bet Championship appearances, adding to a further 64 Premier League appearances for the Terriers and Aston Villa.
