Academy duo join Park Avenue for the season

- Comments from Academy Manager Leigh Bromby

Huddersfield Town Academy duo Isaac Marriott and Jaheim Headley have joined Bradford (Park Avenue) on loan for the 2019/20 season.

The pair have played as trialists in pre-season for Garry Thompson’s side – including in the 2-2 draw against Town’s Under-19 side earlier this week – and will now join the Vanarama National League North side for the football year.

Central midfielder Marriott (pictured above), 19, has previous experience of senior football through spells at Brighouse Town and Northern Irish side Larne, whilst this will be a first exposure to men’s football for the versatile Headley, 17.

Jaheim’s move to the Horsfall Stadium is technically on work experience, as he is still on scholarship forms with the Terriers.

Huddersfield Town Academy Manager Leigh Bromby explained:

“This move is a fantastic one for both Isaac and Jaheim and I would like to thank Garry Thompson and Bradford (Park Avenue) for placing their trust in our young players.

“I’m very confident that both players will more than stand up to the physical nature of the Vanarama National League North, whilst showing their talent to really help Bradford enjoy another successful season.”

These two moves are the latest in a line of loans to get Town’s youngsters experience of First Team football, following on from Rekeil Pyke (Rochdale), Romoney Crichlow-Noble (Hartlepool United), Olly Dyson (Barrow), Ben Jackson (Stockport County) and Darnell Mintus (Brighouse Town).
