Young left-back Jaden Brown was delighted to make his Sky Bet Championship debut despite Town’s defeat to Reading.

The 20-year-old left back, who joined from Tottenham Hotspur in the January 2019 transfer window, had only started one game for the Terriers before today.

When speaking after the game, Jaden was keen to push on from his first league start.

“It’s a good feeling especially in front of the home fans, but I’m going home disappointed because we didn’t get a result today.

“I worked hard from pre-season every day, I’ve got to keep working hard every day; my job’s not done because I got my first start.

“I need to start again in the next game and the game after that.”

Town were beaten 2-0 by Reading and Jaden explained how frustrated he was with the defeat.

“It was a hard one to take because we played so well for so long.

“I thought we didn’t give them time on the ball and the game plan really worked to be honest, but we just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net, which is disappointing.

“You get little chances, like for example Pritch’s chance, on another day he’s scoring that. Once we get a couple of goal, it’ll be easier for us.

“I don’t think it’s a confidence thing because everyone is training well, but we need one or two to get into the rhythm and make it a habit.”

Since the departure of Jan Siewert, Mark Hudson introduced a new style of play to the Club and Jaden explained how all the players have bought into that.

“We feel more free on the ball and we play a bit of football. We need to start getting result, it’s not about how well you play for 70 minutes, you need to get results.

“What Skip (Mark Hudson) does for us in training showed on the pitch, everyone believes in him and his game plans.

“I think games come thick and fast and I think it’ll pay off soon because we have been playing well.”
