One of Town’s new Academy scholars for the 2019/20 season has already received his first call-up to the Wales Under-17 squad!
15-year-old Robson Shipley will officially join the Terriers in the summer to begin his Academy scholarship but has already featured in several games for the Under-17s as a trialist during the current season.
Hailing from North Shields, Robson can play in any of the attacking positions in Town’s identity, from the number nine to the wide positions.
He has now received his first summons to the Wales squad for the upcoming Under-17 Development Tournament between Wales, Bulgaria, Northern Ireland and Luxembourg , which will take place at the Hadzhi Dimitar Stadium in Sliven, Bulgaria between 11 and 18 April 2019.
Wales will take on the hosts on Saturday 13 April, play Northern Ireland on 15 April and finish with a match against Luxembourg on 17 April.
Further details about Town’s next set of Academy scholars for the 2019/20 season will be revealed after their induction night on 15 April.
