Huddersfield Town Head Coach Jan Siewert explained how the next four games are vital for him as he continues to prepare for next season.

With Town knowing its fate for the 2019/20 campaign, Jan Siewert told the press how important the next four games are for him and his side to get ready for the Sky Bet Championship.

“I am still learning. I am still learning because I have a long-term view.

“I have the possibility to learn about the players for the rest of the season. I can’t waste time in the last four games. I have to learn about them.

“As you know, I hate losing and it really hurts me that we’ve lost many games. I suffer from it.

“I have a different attitude, I want to win games, but I have to learn in the next four games and learn about the players.”

When speaking to the press, Jan detailed how the hard work will continue into the summer.

“We have to look at each detail to go through this process.

“Everyone is working for next year, focusing on what we can do. We have to look at players, the playing style of the Championship, so it’s all about next season.

“We can’t know what the team looks like next season. We have to go through this process, have a long-term view and be calm and learn from each game.”

As the learning process continues, Jan explained what he expects from Emirates FA Cup finalist Watford this weekend.

“What they do well is crowding the centre, even with their wingers, they come inside to get an overload in the centre, so we have to be prepared for this. In our shape we have to work against it.

“They are a threat from a distance, we know it. They scored many goals from behind the 18-yard box, we have to take care from it but also have our idea against it.”

Town’s Head Coach detailed the latest team news ahead of the Premier League game.

“Isaac (Mbenza) is better, which is good.

“Unfortunately, Karlan Grant couldn’t train much this week. I have to look at what’s possible with him, there’s still a question mark. He’s been ill. He trained today a bit, but I have to look.

“Laurent (Depoitre) is training after his injury with his foot, it’s not easy, we have to take care for him. He won’t play against Watford.”
