Huddersfield Town attacker Elias Kachunga admitted that the Club’s current situation isn’t easy for anyone.

‘Kache’ spoke after the Terriers’ 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and explained how difficult it is for the players, the fans and everyone at the Club to see Town at the bottom of the Premier League table.

“It’s not easy for anyone. This season has been heavy for the mind, the body, everything.

“I can say that everyone tried to give their best on the pitch. You could see on the pitch we tried to fight for each other and the supporters to show a good game.

“The game today was not good enough for us to take something. Tottenham is a really good team but it’s a hard defeat to take.”

Town fans flocked to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to support Jan Siewert’s side – selling out the away end.

Elias explained that he can appreciated why they might get frustrated but hoped they could see that he and his teammates do work hard for them.

“I think the whole season the supporters have been behind us. I can understand why some supporters are sometimes disappointed with the way we played the games or lose week in, week out, I can understand this.

“Hopefully the supporters can see, as well for us, it’s not easy to lose these games.

“Especially me, I try to give everything to give the supporters something back, to work hard, to work my socks off and hopefully the supporters see that.

“I can only say it’s brilliant that so many supporters came to Tottenham to support us and stay behind us.”

Today’s match was Elias Kachunga’s first start since AFC Bournemouth at home at the beginning of March.

The attacking midfielder explained how hard he’s been working to get back into the starting XI.

“I work really hard to get in the team, to help this team and to stay on the pitch. Today, as well, I tried everything that was possible for me. I worked really hard as a winger and defended deep.

“Hopefully the next games are better for us and we can create more chances.”
