Florent Hadergjonaj fondly recalled Huddersfield Town’s win over Watford at the John Smith’s Stadium last season as he looked ahead to Saturday’s Premier League game.
The right-back was part of the side that beat the Hornets 1-0 after a last-minute goal from Tom Ince.
When speaking ahead of the game, Flo looked back at the memorable win.
“From last year, we have very good memories. It was a very, very nice game.
“Yesterday, I saw a video from it on Twitter. For me, it was a crazy game.
“I think it showed the difference between this year and last year; last year we could win the 50/50 games, but this year maybe not.
“Last year, I think it was great memories this game at home. We won in the 90th minute when Tom Ince scored, everyone went crazy, also me and it was great memories for all the town, the Club, the staff and the fans.
“To celebrate at the end like this with the three points was very, very nice.”
The Switzerland international made his second start under Jan Siewert last weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.
He explained how hard he worked to get his chance in the starting line-up.
“I think it’s always good as a football player to get minutes and games. I was happy to start from the beginning in a big game against a big team away. I was very happy, and I tried my best to help my teammates.
“I trained hard, I tried my best to show the Head Coach that I want to play from the beginning and this time it was my turn.
“The most important think is to train hard every day. I think you do it for yourself, if you train hard it’s good for you, so you have to give everything in each training to show not only the Head Coach, but yourself that you’re ready to play.”
There are only four games left of the 2018/19 Premier League campaign and the defender explained what he wants to get out of them.
“For us, as players, the most important thing is to get wins. This year we haven’t got a lot of wins, so for the self-confidence it’s very important to go with positive vibes into the summer.
“We have to go game by game and that’ll start on Saturday with the home game. We have to stick together as a team and try our best.”
