Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner described the afternoon's performance as the best of the season despite his men losing out to a sole Wilfried Zaha stunner which handed the points to the visitors Crystal Palace.

Wagner explained that the outcome was certainly one that the Terriers didn't deserve in light of the creation of a succession of chances which ultimately weren't taken in the end, followed up by an admission that the luck failed to drop in the Blue and Whites' favour, having struck the post and a matter of deflections falling agonisingly off course.

"The effort the players have shown and how the created opportunities was good and we defended very well,” said Head Coach David Wagner.

“It was the best performance of the season and we created so many opportunities; we were unlucky.”

Zaha's first-half strike was of a high quality calibre, with the Head Coach noting that more may well have been done defensively to avoid the opening and only goal of the contest.

"It was not the first goal Zaha has scored in this situation; we have to do better."

David Wagner took the positives from the defeat against Crystal Palace, explaining that if performances like this continue, Town will collect more points.

"If we perform like this again we will score our goals and collect our points. We were definitely unlucky.

"We controlled the game both in the middle and the defence, and also on the wings."
