Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner explained how his players responded to the incredible support from the terraces on an afternoon where his side more than matched a Tottenham Hotspur side.

Only a first-half Harry Kane brace separated the two outfits and David Wagner was quick to point out just how well the Club competed against the Champions League participants, expanding further to add that the performance only instils the growing belief that results will eventually turn for the better.

Wagner discussed the penalty situation from which Kane bagged the second, saying that he felt there may have been a foul at the other end on Chris Löwe, before rounding off with a quick injury update on both Terence Kongolo and Christopher Schindler who left the field with injuries.

When speaking to #HTTV, David Wagner commented:

"The players have done everything asked and battled them. The atmosphere spoke for itself today; so not only credit to my players, but to the supporters too.

"We tried to press them high, get in their faces and be on the front foot. Against this Spurs team, we thought it would be the right thing to surprise them and we thought it would reap rewards. It worked well apart from we didn't score.

"How the players stick together, how they work and stick together, is top class. We are able to create opportunities, and we are unlucky.”
