THE Game is Stuart Roy Clarke’s new project with University Professor and friend John Williams where they endeavour to define football and “The British obsession with ‘THE Game’”.
The book was released on the 11 August last month and is to go along with a show at Huddersfield Art Gallery from 29th September – 5th January.
Stuart Roy Clarke (born Hertfordshire 1961) has spent the summer of 2018 driving around and photographing World Cup Russia and World Cup winning nation France; By contrast he has spent the previous 29 years focussing on the British game.
The book is a timely reminder of what makes the domestic game just what it is, as we embark on a new season.
Filled with photographs and a deep insight into the worldwide phenomenon that is English football, the book touches on all aspects of the game from the fans to the laws of the game.
The show opens on the 29th September and the book is available online now.
