“Training is very intense and there’s lots of competition; everyone’s fighting hard for their place” said Aaron Mooy as he looked ahead to this weekend’s Premier League match against Leicester City.
When speaking to #HTTV ahead of Huddersfield Town’s upcoming game against the Foxes, Australian international explained how hard he and his teammates have been working in training leading up to this game.
“We are all working as hard as we can.
“I don’t think we can do much more in training, we just need to put it all together when we play at the weekend.”
Town come into this match searching for the Club’s first win of the 2018/19 season, despite this Mooy went into detail about the positives the Terriers can take out of the game against Crystal Palace, whilst stating all the players need is ‘more belief’ in front of goal.
“The performance was really good (against Crystal Palace), I think everyone could see that, we just didn’t put our chances away; this is something we need to do better.
“If we want to win games, we have to score goals and hopefully we can put that right at the weekend.
“Luck is always good, but we need to really believe when we are in the final third playing that final pass or shot.”
David Wagner’s side will travel to the King Power Stadium this weekend to face Leicester City – a side Town hasn’t beaten away from home in the league since 1954.
During the 2017/18 Premier League season, the Terriers took one point off the Foxes, drawing at the John Smith’s Stadium and losing at the King Power Stadium.
Recalling the games last year, Mooy discussed what he expects this weekend from Leicester City.
“I don’t expect them to be too much different. They’ve added some new players and the squad is a bit different.
“I’m sure they’ll be right up for it at their home ground. We have to be prepared for that, be ready and focus on our own performance.”
The Australian went on to discuss how his role in the midfield could be pivotal because of Leicester City’s style of play.
“Every game is different, it doesn’t always work out how it looks like it will. A midfielder’s job is to get your team dominate the ball by stopping the other team dominating. If I play, I’ll try my best to do it.”
