HTTV speaks to Town’s Belgian Forward

Laurent Depoitre says that the side needs to display its great team spirit and togetherness during Saturday’s Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Town’s Belgian Striker was speaking to #HTTV ahead of the visit of Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs side to the John Smith’s Stadium this Saturday 29 September 2018.
Depoitre spoke about the mood amongst the players and training intensity levels in the week leading up to the game:
“The intensity at training is good; everyone works hard, and everyone wants to play.
“The recent matches were quite good, but the results weren’t there. We are working very hard during the week, so I hope the points will come.
“We need points and we try to stay positive and work hard and I hope, in front of our fans, we can grab something against Tottenham”
Having been selected for his first Premier League start of the season in last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester City, Town’s Number 20 spoke about the competition with Steve Mounié and how hard they are both working to show what they are capable of:
“It’s the same as last year, we have two players for one spot. We both work hard during training and try to show what we can do.
“We play good games at the moment, but we need to score and do better in front of goal.”
Laurent concluded by speaking about the need for everyone to get behind the team and to draw on the great togetherness of the squad on Saturday afternoon:
“Against teams with good quality, we have to have great team spirit and togetherness to achieve what we want to achieve.
“It is important that everybody is behind us.”
