Huddersfield Town supporters can now sponsor the incredible Wilson Walk participants as they prepare to walk from the John Smith’s Stadium to Turf Moor this weekend.

The Wilson Walk, which is sponsored by Lister Horsfall, is paying tribute to Town legend Ray Wilson MBE and will see around 165 walkers take on the gruelling challenge.

The walk will begin at the John Smith’s Stadium with the planned route going through Sowerby Bridge, Hebden Bridge and into Turf Moor prior to the Terriers’ away game against Burnley Football Club on Saturday (6 October 2018).

To get to Turf Moor in time to see David Wagner’s side in Premier League action, the walkers will begin the hike and take on the difficult weather conditions at 3am!

Chairman Dean Hoyle and his wife, Janet, will be taking part in the walk, alongside former Town Manager Peter Jackson and members of the Wilson family.

The walk will raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance as well as the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity close to the Wilson family’s heart.

If you don’t know any of the walkers personally, but would like to sponsor the participants, please go to our Just Giving page and sponsor by CLICKING HERE or texting KIUC83 £5 to 70070!

Huddersfield Town’s Club Ambassador, Andy Booth, commented:

“I have to take my hat off to all the walkers taking part, a 26-mile walk is certainly not easy, especially combined with the weather conditions we are forecast!

“To have around 165 people taking part in the Wilson Walk is absolutely incredible and makes me even more proud of the supporters of this club.

“We can’t wait to take on this challenge and raise money for two very deserving charities in Ray Wilson’s honour.

“I would urge all Town supporters to back the walkers by sponsoring us on our Just Giving page; we can make a real difference!”

The Walk is the fifth of its kind, with past events raising upwards of £100,000 for the ‘Keep It Up’ campaign.
