Head Coach David Wagner felt his side's defensive work wasn't good enough in the wake of a disappointing defeat at the hands of a buoyant Watford side.
Town failed to capitalise on a positive start for which they were made to pay by Pereyra and Deulofeu, before Isaac Success added a late third; goals that Wagner believes arrived courtesy of his men not being at their very best to halt advances into easy shooting positions.
Watford looked in confident mood following an impressive 2-0 win at Wolves last weekend, and DW admitted that the Hornets were handed too many opportunities to which they duly converted three to keep the points.
A full week's training is in the pipeline for the squad in which the Head Coach has called on his players to impress in order to prove that the afternoon was a 'one-off'.
David rounded off to once again praise the magnificent Huddersfield Town travelling supporters at Vicarage Road and looked forward to returning to the John Smith's Stadium in just over a week’s time for Monday Night Football against Fulham.
Following the game, David Wagner commented:
"We played good football and we were unlucky. Saying that, if you aren't good defensively and not able to keep the opponent away from your goal, then they will cause you problems. Because of this, it was deserved defeat."
"We have to perform on the highest level if you want to get results in this league. Today, we did not do that."
"The first 10 minutes we started on the front foot. Offensively, we created moments yet again without an end product and luck. But performance wise, this wasn't on our level compared to other weeks."
"Our support was outstanding. I really feel for them. We just didn't have the right answers for them today."
