Huddersfield Town centre-back Christopher Schindler believes that sustaining the level of First Half performance could have seen the Terriers take more the draw against West Ham.

The Terriers were off to a flying start with Alex Pritchard scoring in the opening six minutes of their game against West Ham. Schindler spoke about the benefits of getting that early goal:

“It’s a really good feeling to score at home. Pritchard knew exactly what to do to get that goal, it was a really good goal. I think after he scored his goal we got better, we defended better.

“That goal was important for us but of course I’d rather have finished with three points.”

Town’s German defender went on to explain that his side could have taken more than just the point from the game if they would have finished more of their chances.

“I think we did a good job at the front, and we created opportunities at the front – we just didn’t use them unfortunately.

“Obviously they also had opportunities to score but they have a world class offensive line.”

“If we don’t use them then it’s always going to be either a one goal game or a tight game.”

Today’s game marked Schindler’s 100th appearance for the club; an incredible landmark to have achieved. Schindler shared his feelings having achieved hit that mark:

“It’s great because in Germany you need about four seasons for that, and here I am in the beginning of my third.

“’I’m so glad with how things have gone since I’ve been here, both for me personally and the club. I hope many more appearances are to come.”

The centre-back was quick to praise the fans for their support and everything they do for the team and the Club.

“They never stop cheering for us or supporting us. They are always lifting us up and they know that at times it can be difficult, but that we should be where we are and we’re always proving people wrong.

“Thanks to them we will keep working to climb the table. They are unbelievable fans.”
