Town supporters challenged to cycle 313 miles through Belgium and the Netherlands

- Pedal for Pounds 10 with Made by Cooper; extra 30 places now available
- Take part in 'The Chairman’s Choice' ride chosen by Dean Hoyle
- Sign up now to be part of Town's biggest overseas bike ride to date!

An additional 30 places have been made available for fans to take part in Huddersfield Town’s Pedal for Pounds 10 with Made By Cooper ride, ‘The Chairman’s Choice’.

The initial 200 spaces to take part on this season's ride have now been filled by fundraising fans, but the Club has managed to create another 30 spaces on the ride - making it the biggest Pedal for Pounds ride to ever take place abroad!

Fans can apply to be one of the additional 30 cyclists before Monday 19 November, but we'd strongly advise you to apply as soon as possible as once these 30 spaces have been filled, entry will be closed!

The 10th anniversary event will be a European adventure around Belgium and the Netherlands between Monday 29 April and Friday 3 May 2019.

The money raised from the ride will go half to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and half to the Town Foundation. The Foundation will split their half in three ways; one third to Kirkwood Hospice, one third to Ruddi’s Retreat and they will use the remaining third for their own Breakfast Clubs.

The Pedal for Pounds 10 with Made By Cooper journey will begin on Monday 29 April 2019, when the cyclists depart on a coach from PPG Canalside to catch an evening ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge.

The following the day after getting off the ferry, the cyclists will travel 71-miles from Zeebrugge, through the medieval city of Bruges and into Antwerp, where they will stay for the night.

On Wednesday 1 May 2019 the P4P10 participants will have a long day in the saddle, cycling 107-miles from Belgium into the capital of the Netherlands, Amsterdam.

After spending the night in Amsterdam, the cyclists face a 55-mile race to the ferry! The route will take them through The Hague to Rotterdam – the shortest leg of the journey.

Once again, the cyclists will spend the night on the ferry before making their way home; cycling 80 miles from Hull back to Huddersfield at PPG Canalside.

After recovering from the 313-mile ride, all the cyclists with then gather together for a lap of honour ahead of Town’s final Premier League game of the season against Manchester United.

This year’s route was decided by Huddersfield Town Chairman Dean Hoyle, who commented:

“As it’s the 10th instalment of the Pedal for Pounds ride and my 10th year of being Chairman, it’s my choice, Chairman’s Choice, and I’ve made sure there aren’t many hills!

“The route will be really picturesque and certainly one that everyone will remember; it’ll be something special.

“I can’t believe how far the Pedal for Pounds rides have come; it’s now a huge event making a massive impact in the local community.

“We are hopefully going to break the £2 million mark, which is absolutely incredible.

“I would urge everyone to join me for what will be a fantastic cycling event.”

The ride is strictly limited to 230 people and will cost £260 to sign-up; this includes an official ride cycling jersey, bike and person transport to Hull, two nights on a ferry in shared rooms (from Hull to Zeebrugge and from Rotterdam to Hull), two nights B&B accommodation in shared rooms of up to 6 people (Antwerp and Amsterdam), water & snacks during the ride and pie & peas on return to PPG Canalside. All cyclists must raise a minimum of £750 for participating in the event.
