Under-19 captain Scott High has today signed a new contract at Huddersfield Town, committing his future to the Club until the summer of 2020.

The 17-year-old midfielder only signed his first professional deal back in April, but the Club has moved to extend that arrangement by a further season as Scott enjoys a great campaign under coach Mark Hudson.

A ball-playing central midfielder – a ‘number six’ in Town’s playing style – Scott has excelled at Under-19 level so far this season, netting an impressive seven goals in 20 starts and one substitute appearance so far.

Sheffield-based, he initially joined the Town Academy from local junior football in Penistone at Under-9 level.

Academy Manager Leigh Bromby commented:

“We’re all delighted that Scott has committed his immediate future to the Club with this new contract.

“He’s taken some great steps forward in his development this season under the tutelage of Mark Hudson and our coaches and we’re all excited about his potential.

“There is still a lot of hard work ahead for Scott, but he has a fantastic attitude towards every day of training. We’ll give him every possibility to continue his improvement at the Club.”
