- Rekeil Pyke signs a new contract at Huddersfield Town
- 21-year-old striker commits future until June 2020
- Forward is currently impressing on loan at Wrexham

Striker Rekeil Pyke has committed his future to Huddersfield Town by putting pen-to-paper on a new contract.

The 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Vanarama National League side Wrexham, has signed a new deal that runs until the summer of 2020, with Town having the option of a further year’s extension at that point.

Having joined the Terriers’ Academy at Under-12 level from Rothwell Juniors, Rekeil signed his first professional contract in February 2015.

His first senior experience came through a short loan spell at Wrexham in 2016, which was soon followed by time on loan at Sky Bet League 2 teams Colchester United and Port Vale.

However, it is during this season’s return to Wrexham that the powerful forward has thrived. Having joined Sam Ricketts’ team for the year ahead of the current campaign, Rekeil has netted five goals in just 10 starts and seven substitute appearances in the fifth tier of English football. Currently, Rekeil and Wrexham sit top of the National League ladder with 41 points from 19 games.

His previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current 2018/19 campaign.
