You can now watch highlights from the Young Terriers seven-goal thriller against Macclesfield Town on Tuesday 20 November 2018.

All of Town’s three goals came in the First Half with Micah Obiero scoring twice and the third coming courtesy of an own goal.

After a strong first-half performance, the game ended in a 4-3 defeat and Hudson reflected on the result with htafc.com:

“I think at any level of football, if you’re ahead by that three-goal margin, even one goal can swing it. You can never feel that you’re secure and switch off”

“It’s the first time that’s happened to us and our group, but it’s something we can learn from.”

“It’s something we can take away from this game. Even when you’re ahead, and the tempo and the tides change, we can learn from that and learn how to stay in the game.”

The Young Terriers battled it out against a Macclesfield Town side featuring a blend of both young and old players; some of which with extensive experience playing in the Football League.

Hudson spoke about the experience and lessons the players can take from these types of games:

“We’re trying to create a programme which puts our players in a good frame of mind and trains them physically, so that they can adapt to playing against men.

“It moves them closer to being able to go on Loan for teams in professional football and our programme is giving them that currently.”

The next step for the Young Terriers in their development process will be a game against Drammen FK on Saturday 24 November.
