FOUNDATION LAUNCHES PL WRITING STARS FOR SECOND YEAR

6 November 2018

Schools Competition with Premier League & Foundation

- Premier League Writing Stars returns for second year
- Schools invited to submit poems about diversity
- Enter this and Town Foundation’s local competition

The Premier League Writing Stars poetry competition returns for its second year to inspire children aged between five and eleven to get creative and pen their own poem around this year’s theme of diversity.

Christopher Schindler presented one of the Yorkshire regional winners in last year’s competition, William Quinn from Netherton Junior School, for his winning poem entitled ‘Football Mad’ around last year’s ‘Resilience’ key theme.

The campaign, which is open to all primary schools in England and Wales, is supported by stars from the worlds of football, entertainment and literature. Last year’s inaugural Writing Stars competition encouraged more than 25,000 primary school pupils to write a poem.
