“I think it’s been a fantastic season. I thought we deserved to win today, we played well for the majority of the game. We had chances but it’s one of them things, we will take the positives and move on.
“It’s been a magnificent season for us. For a Club like this to stay in the Premier League is extraordinary. The lads have got to a take a lot of credit, we’ve all been together and we’ve come through.
“We’ve had a long tough season, so have the fans. They’ve been with us through the good times and the bad times but ultimately, we’ve come through and we can celebrate.
“I don’t know how it feels, maybe tomorrow I will feel a bit better. It’s a sad day for me but I’ll move on and I’ll have to prove myself in another part of the football world.
“I was very proud, it was a great reception I got and I’m very thankful and appreciative of that. The boys gave me a fantastic send-off, I enjoyed it.”
