Christopher Schindler spoke of the unbelievable feeling after Huddersfield Town secured another year of Premier League football.

The German Defender was speaking to #HTTV after his side’s 1-1 draw with reigning Champions Chelsea, with the point proving to be enough to secure mathematical safety in the Premier League.

‘Schindy’ was quick to praise the strength of Town’s defensive unit up against top opposition in the last two Premier League games.

Togetherness and playing for each other were the factors that the Defender felt helped his side to Premier League survival.

Speaking to #HTTV Christopher Schindler explained:

“It’s just unbelievable, it’s going to need a few days or weeks until it sinks in. I don’t really know after yesterday’s result, we thought this point against Man City was not worth anything. To get the point here as well is just unbelievable.

“I feel empty, I can’t really get it that we’ve made it after that result yesterday. Everybody thought we were going to go down. Not of course in our dressing room or our Club, but a lot of people that watch the Premier League.

“The Premier League isn’t comparable to the Play-Off Final, it’s a great achievement for the Club, the area and the supporters, I’m just glad this Club will be in the Premier League next year.

“You saw it in the last two games that everyone helps everyone out. Maybe in a few games this season we couldn’t show it, but it’s amazing that we can play solid at the back against the top teams now. Today, it was a big match for Chelsea as well; as they had the chance for the Champions League.

“Part of our identity is we work together, from individual quality we have no chance to compete against the teams in the top six. But if we stick together and everyone works for each other and if someone makes a mistake someone else will block the shot. It’s just an honour to play for this team.”
