Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner was full of praise for Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace who he said came away with a ‘deserved’ victory on a wintery afternoon at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Wagner admitted that his team wasn’t up to scratch, especially when in possession.

The Head Coach explained that the Terriers didn’t lack in the areas of enthusiasm, attitude and effort, but it was just that final killer instinct with the ball that ultimately was lacking.

David continued to add that he feels the defeat is an important learning curve in order to manage and learn the correct response to bounce back.

When speaking to HTTV, David Wagner commented:

“It’s a disappointing defeat and it’s a disappointing performance as well. We know what we’ve done wrong today, we were below par. Especially in ball possession we gave the ball away and we made too many easy mistakes and we wasn’t able to close the gaps.

“Palace were able to use these mistakes and the space, they were a threat on the counter and they deserved the win.

“The good thing is if you know what you’ve done wrong, you can make it better the next time. The atmosphere was outstanding and thank you to the supporters for what they’ve done today.”
