Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner revealed that Terence Kongolo, Philip Billing and Aaron Mooy are all back in contention for this weekend’s Premier League match against Newcastle United.

Both Billing and Mooy returned back from their respective international duties early in the week after suffering minor injury setbacks but have since been working with Town’s physios and fitness coaches.

David Wagner revealed that the pair are back on the grass with the fitness coaches today (Thursday) before returning with the group tomorrow (Friday), meaning they’re both back in contention.

Town’s Head Coach also revealed that Terence Kongolo is back in contention after returning to training during the international break. The defender has missed the last two Premier League through injury.

After releasing the latest team news, Wagner went on to explain how excited he for this weekend’s game against Newcastle United, whilst recalling the Club’s positive memories of playing at St. James’ Park.

The Head Coach praised his players and the supporters for what they have done so far but urged them to make the next step on Saturday, detailing that the squad can smell the chance of staying up.

On the latest team news, David Wagner commented:

“It (the injuries) doesn’t look as serious; they (Aaron Mooy and Philip Billing) are back on the grass today with the fitness coaches and I expect them both with the group tomorrow, meaning they are then in contention for Saturday’s game.

“It was minor issues and caution as well (why they came back), I think the gap between Tuesday and Saturday was big enough to bring them back and to recover and treat them, which is good enough that they’ll be back for the game.

“Terence is fine and has been back in training since the international break without any issues; he’s in competition for Saturday as well.”
