- Town Foundation nominated for Best CSR or Community Scheme
- PPG Canalside Fanzone shortlisted for Best Match Day Experience
- Winners revealed at ceremony on Friday 1 June 2018

Huddersfield Town is delighted to announce that the Town Foundation and the PPG Canalside Fanzone have both been shortlisted for prizes at the 2018 Sports Business Awards.

The Town Foundation has been named as one of the finalists in the ‘Best CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) or Community Scheme’ category, where judges looked at the dedication to and understanding of local communities alongside positive impacts on these from CSR activities.

Since it’s inception the Town Foundation has launched 26th Breakfast Clubs, helping to give children a healthy start to the today, with almost a million breakfasts being served. Not only this but the Foundation has also launched a number of different campaigns to engage the community, most recently through the Big Sleep Out raising over £55,000 for homeless charities.

Alongside the success of the Town Foundation, the PPG Canalside Fanzone has been nominated for the Best Match (or Game) Day Experience award. This award is for the best match/game day experience delivered to fans and spectators who were in attendance. The judges were looking for efforts to enhance spectator enjoyment and engagement resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.

The PPG Canalside Fanzone, which is sponsored by Perrys Vauxhall, has seen over 1,000 supporters attending the pre-match activities, doubling the figures recorded from when it started. Town fans, both young and old, have been thoroughly engaged with the events held at the Fanzone throughout the current Premier League season as it continues to thrive.

The next Fanzone will be held prior to Town’s next home Premier League match against Watford on Saturday 14 March 2018, with full details being released in the next coming week.

The Sports Business Awards were created to celebrate the hard work and achievements of individuals and teams who make sporting success possible.

Earlier this season Town received two nominations at the Football Business awards, the sister ceremony to the Sports Business Awards, and won Silver in the Innovation category.

Both the Town Foundation and PPG Canalside will find out whether they have won the awards at the lunchtime ceremony held at the Brewery in London on Friday 1 June 2018.
