SCHINDLER COULD BE A KEY FIGURE THIS WEEKEND

30 March 2018

Christopher Schindler’s defensive record has been impressive this season

- Schindler second in Premier League for aerial duels won
- Mounié recorded more headed efforts on goal in last five gameweeks
- Lössl had a defiant display against Newcastle United in August

Christopher Schindler (£4.7m) can be a key figure in Fantasy Premier League as we look to complete a double over Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.

The centre-half is placed second among defenders for both aerial duels won (133) and clearances, blocks and interceptions (CBI), with 302.

That defensive contribution will be vital in stopping a Magpies’ attack that have scored eight goals direct from corner kicks; no side have recorded more.

Target man Steve Mounié (£5.9m) will likely pose problems for our hosts at St James’ Park.

Mounié has started each of the last five Gameweeks and produced seven headed efforts on goal – no FPL forward has managed more in that period.

Goalkeeper Jonas Lössl (£4.6m) turned in a defiant display in our 1-0 win over Rafa Benítez’s side earlier in the season.

The Danish stopper made his season-high five saves against the Tynesiders back in Gameweek 2, claiming the second of our eight top-flight clean sheets.

Lössl will be keen for his defence to keep Newcastle’s on-loan winger Kenedy (£4.8m) quiet.

Having scored twice against Southampton in his previous home appearance, the Brazilian has earned over 30,000 new FPL owners for Gameweek 32.

Since arriving in the North East, no team-mate has recorded more shots (14), efforts in the box (seven) or key passes (six).
