Blue and White Foundation members voted Steve Mounié as their February 2018 Player of the Month!

The striker has won the award for the first time this season beating last month’s winner Jonathan Hogg to the award.

During February, Steve featured in four out of Town’s five matches during the second month of 2018 and was influential for David Wagner’s side.

Steve scored on three occasions for the Terriers – two in the Premier League and once in the Emirates FA Cup.

Interestingly, the Benin international’s Premier League goal against West Bromwich Albion was also named as the Goal of the Month by the Town supporters, in the competition sponsored by Maze8.

Blue and White Foundation member Mr Stephen Beardsell from Upper Cumberworth voted for Steve and was drawn to meet him before Town’s next Premier League home game against Swansea City to present him with his Champagne.

Steve will also receive a commemorative signed photo with the striker.

The 23 year-old spoke to #HTTV after winning the award and commented:

“It means a lot for me; I’m very glad and honoured to be named as the Player of the Month.

“It means a lot because I gave everything this month on the pitch to help the team get some points and to win some cup games.

“I’m very, very honoured to be named Player of the Month.

“To be Player of the Month is something very special to me and I really appreciate the fans voting for me.”
