- Schedule of games listed below
Four Huddersfield Town players have been selected to play for their countries during the upcoming March international break.
Goalkeeper Jonas Lössl and defender Mathias Zanka both received call-ups to the Senior Men’s Denmark squad, and they will be the first Town players in action as Denmark host Panama on Thursday evening.
Denmark secured qualification for the 2018 World Cup by beating Republic of Ireland 5-1 on aggregate in the Play-Offs and will play two games in preparation for the team’s first World Cup Finals since 2010. Denmark also plays Chile five days later on Tuesday evening.
Town midfielder Aaron Mooy will also be in action during the international break with Australia. The Socceroos face Norway on Friday evening before travelling to London to face Colombia at Craven Cottage the following Tuesday at 8pm. Australia also confirmed a place at the World Cup Finals in Russia following a 3-1 aggregate Play-Off win over Honduras in November. Mooy has played in all of Australia’s last five games.
Phillip Billing received his third call-up to the Denmark U21 squad after missing out on his country’s 3-1 defeat against Poland U21s in November through injury. The Town midfielder is in contention to face Georgia on 27 March, the only game the U21 squad will play during the international break.
Billing has also featured in all four of the Young Danes’ European Under-21 Championship qualification wins so far.
