First interview with new recruit Ben Hamer

- Ben Hamer speaks to #HTTV after joining Town
- Goalkeeper explains what David Wagner told him
- Hamer can’t wait to join up with his Huddersfield Town teammates

Huddersfield Town’s new signing Ben Hamer spoke to #HTTV for the first time and explained how excited he is to join a “very ambitious and hungry club”.

After joining the Terriers from Leicester City on a free transfer, Ben described how the Club’s ambitions meet his own and that he can’t wait to start a new chapter with Huddersfield Town.

He went into detail about how discussion with Head Coach David Wagner, First Team Coach Andrew Hughes and Head of Goalkeeping Paul Clements confirmed his positive thoughts about joining as well as explaining how the Club’s style of play fits him perfectly.

Ben admitted that he can’t wait to play in front of the Huddersfield Town supporters after hearing them both home and away against Leicester City during the 2017/18 Premier League season, whilst also going into detail about how excited he is to meet his new teammates.

When speaking to #HTTV, Ben commented:

“I am very excited to be here! From the outside looking in, I’ve seen the progression the Club’s made; it’s very ambitious, hungry and progressive, so it’s a very exciting time for the Club and something I wanted to be a part of.

“We’ve stayed in the Premier League, which is an unbelievable achievement and it then gives you the chance to grow and build.

“Once I knew of Town’s interest my first thoughts and feelings were excited and let’s go and have a look, let’s speak to the Head Coach and see where it’s at.

“I went to speak to the Head Coach and everything I was told and heard I liked; it was a big part of me making the decision to come up here.”
