Head Coach reviews 2-1 win over Bologna

- David Wagner reviews win over Bologna
- Head Coach happy with majority of the game
- DW "Wins in pre-season are nice for the mood"

Head Coach David Wagner was a happy man after seeing his side beat Italian Serie A side Bologna FC 1909 in the penultimate pre-season friendly of the summer.

The Terriers went ahead in a good first-half performance through an Aaron Mooy penalty before the opponent drew level, but it was Benin international Steve Mounié who sealed the victory for Town with the last action of the game; a towering back-post header.

“We’ve seen a lot of good things, and a few things that were not so good,” Wagner told #HTTV post-match.

“I think apart from the injury to (Elias) Kachunga, which doesn’t look too serious, everything was fine. Everybody looks healthy and we have done some good physical work today.

“The lads showed great togetherness. Sometimes pre-season matches can have a little more aggressiveness if you play teams from abroad and that was the case today in some moments.

“I really like what I have seen. We had 15 minutes in the second-half where we lost the ball too easily, especially in the final third, but otherwise I think we controlled the game. We were very focused defensively and we created enough opportunities to score two good goals.

“We saw a lot of the themes we have talked about in pre-season so far. Of course, wins in pre-season are nice for the mood, so it was good that Stevie finished this great cross right before the final whistle.”
