David Wagner was happy that his side can return from the pre-season trip to Germany with a fit and healthy squad.

The Terriers had a productive week playing three games in five days with his players getting further minutes in their legs and returning to PPG Canalside with a healthy squad.

Town’s Head Coach praised his side’s work ethic put in during the games, explaining his happiness at the attitude of his side when facing some good opponents.

David also shared a word on new-recruit Adama Diakhaby who was making his first appearance for the Terriers since making the switch from AS Monaco.

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner commented:

“This was our absolute priority with the 3 games in 5 days, with a healthy squad. We come back with a squad where all the players have minutes in their legs and this was the reason, along with testing ourselves against some good opponents. We have met some good opponents, yes the results haven’t been the best, we are aware of this, but this is pre-season and this happens.

“This is what the players needed, anything else other than this would be a surprise. You have to go through pre-season and I’m happy to have some further alternatives, Diakhaby made his debut, Ramadan Sobhi got his second game with minutes and we can go from there.

“He has done some work with Christophe already in video meetings. He’s been with us two days with only one or two training sessions, but he’s a talent and we are happy we have him in our group. We now need to make sure he knows everyone better, settles in and has a better understanding about our game. He is someone that can help us in the future and we are happy to have him at our football club.”
