Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner was happy with what he saw from his side in its first game of pre-season away at Bury.
The game against the Sky Bet League 2 side provided Town with its first test of pre-season and the Terriers' Head Coach was happy to see a good variety of both positive and negative moments from the game in preparation for the new season.
David Wagner also provided an update on the health of his squad following the game sharing that both Juninho Bacuna had picked up a knock, but the rest of the squad had come through fit and healthy.
Town’s Head Coach finally shared a word on 17-year-old Matty Daly who got a second-half goal on his first senior appearance for the Terriers.
Speaking to #HTTV, David commented:
“I would say it was one of the better pre-season matches, even if it was a pre-season match. I liked the tempo which they’ve shown.
"Everyone is healthy but there is a small doubt about Bacuna – other than that it’s a perfect evening. I think we’ve seen some good moments and some less good moments, so it was a typical pre-season match.”
“He [Matty Daly] is a homegrown player who came through our Academy, so credit to our Academy with what they’ve done with him so far. He’s been with us for a week and you were able to see his talent in some moments and his youth in other moments, both in the positive and the negatives. We shouldn’t see the negatives in him, we should only see the positives. He’s a talent and we will support him and give him the help to make him better.”
