More information on Town’s pre-season opponents Dynamo Dresden

- Terriers to face German side Dynamo Dresden on Wednesday 18th July
- Fixture to take place in Rüsselsheim, Germany
- Dynamo managed by former German player Uwe Neuhaus

Huddersfield Town are to take on German side Dynamo Dresden in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday 18 July, with kick-off scheduled for 6:30pm local time.

Dynamo Dresden are a Club steeped in history dominating football in East Germany in their glory years during the 1970’s winning five league titles.

After the unification of Germany in 1990, The Club joined the Bundesliga in 1991 spending four years in the top-flight before being relegated. Dresden faced financial difficulty and were denied a licence into the second tier, meaning they would go straight to the third-tier of German Football.

They currently operate in the 2. Bundesliga and finished 14th in Germany’s second division at the end of the 2017/18 season.

Manager Uwe Neuhaus took charge of the German club back in April 2015. He has since guided the club to a 5th and 14th place finish in the 2. Bundesliga after getting the side promoted during the 2015/16 campaign, his first full season in charge of the club.

Dynamo played four seasons in the top division Bundesliga between 1991 and 1995 but have since operated outside the top-flight.

Current Huddersfield Town centre-back Michael Hefele completed his transfer to the Terriers from Town’s pre-season opponents back in July 2016.

Hefele departed Dynamo having made 72 appearances for the club and captained them to promotion from Germany’s third division.
