Town players continue to build up minutes in second friendly

David Wagner will extend several of the Town players’ minutes on the pitch to 60 today in the second pre-season friendly ahead of the 2018/19 campaign at Accrington Stanley this afternoon.

The majority of the starting XI will play the opening hour of today’s game, with a few planned exceptions like goalkeeper Ben Hamer and first-half captain Jonathan Hogg.

At that stage, most of the substitutes will play the final 30. That includes Terence Kongolo, who trained yesterday without issue after picking up a knock at Bury.

Town’s World Cup quartet - Jonas Lössl, Aaron Mooy, Ramadan Sobhi and Zanka – are still on extended leave after their summer exploits.

Ryan Schofield, Scott Malone, Juninho Bacuna, Rajiv van La Parra and Danny Williams are not involved as Town take no risks with players feeling knocks or returning from injury.

New signing Erik Durm isn’t involved after signing for the Club late last night.
