- This will be a second spell in Wales for Rekeil

Huddersfield Town striker Rekeil Pyke has today joined Vanarama National League club Wrexham on loan for the 2018/19 season, pending international clearance.

The 20-year-old forward joins the Welsh side for a second spell, having played there on loan during a short time in 2016.

This is the latest in a series of loan spells for the powerful forward, who will continue to gain important experience of First Team football under new boss Sam Ricketts.

Wrexham comes into the new campaign after finishing 10th in the Vanarama National League in the 2017/18 campaign, finishing just five points off the Play-Off places.

As well as a brief loan spell at Wrexham in 2016, the Young Terrier has also spent time in Sky Bet League 2 with Colchester United and Port Vale over the last two seasons.

Alongside this, the powerful striker has also been a regular for Town’s Under-23s over the last three seasons, scoring five goals in 14 appearances for Mark Hudson’s side during the 2017/18 campaign.

Rekeil originally joined the Club at Under-12 level from local side Rothwell Juniors and progressed through the Academy age groups at a fast pace.

The youngster has trained with David Wagner’s First Team on a number of occasions and featured in the 2016/17 pre-season friendlies against Liverpool FC, FC Ingolstadt 04 and Oldham Athletic.
