Huddersfield Town attacking midfielder Jack Payne has signed for Sky Bet League 1 side Bradford City on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old began last season on loan at Oxford United before being recalled in January and subsequently joining Blackburn Rovers, collecting 10 assists and four goals in Sky Bet League 1 action for both sides.

Having initially joined The Terriers in June 2016 for an undisclosed fee from Southend Utd, Payne played an important role in Town’s 2016/17 promotion season making 10 starts and 14 sub appearances, scoring twice.

The London-born midfielder inspired Town to an important win against Sky Bet Championship winners, Newcastle United in June 2016, scoring in the 82nd minute to secure a 2-1 win for David Wagner’s side at St. James’ Park.

Payne will now join Bradford City under the stewardship of former Huddersfield Town midfielder, Michael Collins who was appointed Head Coach of The Bantams in June 2018.

Bradford finished in 11th position in Sky Bet League 1 last season, just eight points outside the Play-Off places.
