Kongolo makes first Premier League start

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has handed a first Premier League start to defender Terence Kongolo in tonight’s game against Liverpool FC; 8pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Dutch defender starts after an impressive performance against Birmingham City in the Emirates FA Cup at the weekend.

Another player returning to the side is Philip Billing, who makes his first home start in the top flight since the 0-0 draw with Southampton way back on 26 August 2017.

Having been rotated out of the side for the weekend cup tie, Jonas Lössl, Mathias Zanka and Christopher Schindler also return, whilst joint top scorers Laurent Depoitre and Steve Mounié both start.

Alex Pritchard and Tom Ince are also back in the squad, taking places among the substitutes.

Scott Malone is out after receiving a knock in training, whilst Sean Scannell (groin), Elias Kachunga (knee) and Danny Williams (hip) are unavailable. Defender Jon Gorenc Stanković is still on the road to recovery after returning to training following a long-term knee problem.
