Kongolo makes debut in today’s FA Cup game

New signing Terrence Kongolo makes his Huddersfield Town starting debut in today’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round game at Bolton Wanderers; 3pm kick-off at the Macron Stadium.

The Netherlands international makes his Terriers bow alongside the returning Michael Hefele at centre back; it’s his first start since his Achilles injury and the Carabao Cup game at Crystal Palace on 19 September 2017.

As David Wagner confirmed yesterday, Bolton-born Joel Coleman starts in goal behind the defence that is completed by full backs Scott Malone and Club Captain Tommy Smith.

USA international Danny Williams partners Jonathan Hogg in central midfield, whilst Joe Lolley – a scorer in Town’s last visit to the Macron Stadium – and leading assist maker Collin Quaner flank the returning Abdelhamid Sabiri in attacking midfield.

Top scorer Laurent Depoitre leads the line.

Philip Billing returns from his injury lay-off to take a place among the substitutes today alongside Lewis O’Brien; it’s the 19 year-old Academy graduate’s first appearance on a competitive First Team team-sheet. The midfielder has scored once in 15 starts for Town’s Under-23s this campaign.
