Having recently been announced as Huddersfield Town’s Under-23s Coach, Mark Hudson spoke to #HTTV for the first time since taking up the role.
Mark was officially handed the role on 3 January 2018; coinciding with the announcement of Leigh Bromby as the Club’s new Academy Manager.
Town’s promotion winning Captain discussed his working relationship with Leigh Bromby and gave detail on how he felt he could apply his experience of being amongst David Wagner’s side to help ready Town’s youngsters for potentially stepping up and integrating into the First Team setup.
‘Huddy’ also believed that being granted the opportunity to get a taste of every aspect of the Club before making a final decision accelerated him into taking up his current position.
Mark Hudson commented:
“Firstly, the opportunity to learn from every different department has probably accelerated me to getting to this point. If it was just learning one thing without seeing how everything works internally; I don’t think you could be ready to take a job like this.
“I’d be surprised if any player comes out of playing and thinks they know what happens behind the scenes; because it doesn’t happen. You don’t see the work that goes on, you don’t see how the scouting department works or how hard Christoph and the analysts work behind the scenes.
