Huddersfield Town’s Academy Manager Leigh Bromby believes there’s some exciting times ahead for the Terriers as he discusses his new role with the Club’s Academy.

Leigh Bromby, who was named of Town’s Academy Manager on 3 January 2018, spoke to #HTTV for the first time after undertaking his new position.

The former Professional Development Coach went into detail on why the role was right for him, how the Academy will undertake the same philosophies as David Wagner’s First Team and explained the main role of an Academy Manager.

Mark Hudson was also appointed as Town’s Under-23s Coach on the same day and Leigh Bromby went into detail on why he was the right fit for the youngsters, whilst discussing how the young Terriers will recruit at Under-18s level.

On his new role Leigh Bromby commented:

“The opportunity and the way it worked with the Academy at this present moment suited where I am.

“It’s something I always thought I’d maybe progress to, but maybe come a little bit early; it’s something that I’m looking forward to and an opportunity that I couldn’t turn down.

“The Academy Manger has got to put the club first and think about what will benefit the Club, not be somebody who is looking at being a Manager or progressing from the role, which was something that I discussed with Julian (Winter). I’m not someone who is here to progress into being a Football Manager, it’s something that I want to be part of and grow.

“At this club we’ve got such an influential and forward-thinking Head Coach and staff in place that will bring them all together.

“It’s a fantastic way that we a play, a style and philosophy that we’ve learnt from the Head Coach and I think it’s something that we will embed within the Club hopefully for years to come because as evidently on the pitch it has been very successful.

“That’s something we want to bring into the Academy, it’s something we believe in as staff and that I believe in so it’s a good mix at the minute.”
