Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner was thoroughly impressed with his Terriers and their performance although this season's FA Cup adventure came to a spirited end against Manchester United.

Head Coach David Wagner spoke highly of his squad, who dominated much of the proceedings up until Romelu Lukaku's second of the afternoon to make it 2-0, and explained how the result was disappointing as it deserved a much more positive outcome.

Wagner was keen to stress that the focus of a determined performance could well lead to important momentum ahead of next Saturday's clash with West Bromwich Albion.

Lukaku had initially struck just three minutes in, and Wagner quickly praised the reaction of his men by taking the game to the Red Devils.

Regarding individuals, the Head Coach was also pleased with Danny Williams' performance on his return from an injury lay-off and continued to add that the group will need every single person to contribute between now and the end of the season.

When speaking to #HTTV, David Wagner commented:

“The performance was another very good one from the lads.

“Manchester United deserved to win because they scored two goals and we didn’t score.

“In the end, as I said it was a very good performance. We played well offensively, defensively the players showed great effort, attitude and desire.

“They were aggressive offensively and brave defensively; they showed aggression and togetherness, so there was everything there except for the goals you need to win football matches like this.

“If it’s a competition where we can live with not using our opportunities, then it’s this one.

“What makes me proud is that we showed what we are capable of even against a Manchester United side.

“I had no doubt that this was possible because the players were on such a good momentum before the game and they are still on it even though we didn’t have the result. The performance was still there.”
