- Poppy shirts auctioned were worn during the 1-0 win over WBA
- Aaron Mooy’s signed match worn shirt raised the most money

Signed Huddersfield Town shirts have raised £8,535 for the UK’s largest Armed Forces charity, The Royal British Legion, in last year’s Poppy Shirt Auction.

31 Huddersfield Town items were up for auction from the Club’s Premier League 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 4 November 2017, including match winner Rajiv van La Parra’s signed match worn poppy shirt!

Despite Rajiv’s goal scoring shirt being available, it was actually Aaron Mooy’s jersey that brought in the most money, eventually being sold for £540, closely followed by Christopher Schindler’s which was raised £528.

The average price of each shirt was around £275, and all the money raised will be sent straight to The Royal British Legion, who will use the funds to make a real difference to members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families by proving practical help, advice and support.

Huddersfield Town and the Premier League has been proud to support The Royal British Legion for many years, making a significant contribution to raise much-needed funds to help people in the Armed Forces community.

The Royal British Legion’s Director of Fundraising Claire Rowcliffe said:

“The support from the Premier League clubs for the 2017 Poppy Appeal has been inspirational.

“I’d like to thank the many generous Huddersfield Town supporters, players and staff who got behind the campaign, and helped to raise £8,535 for the Legion.

“All the money raised by Huddersfield Town will translate into the vital support for our Armed Forces community that The Royal British Legion provides.”
