Following the closure of the January Transfer Window htafc.com has caught up with Huddersfield Town’s loanees to see how they’ve been performing at their respective clubs.
Jordan Williams and Rekeil Pyke have returned to Huddersfield Town from their respective loans at Bury and Port Vale, whilst Fraser Horsfall made his loan move to Kidderminster Harriers permanent in late December.
Sean Scannell also returned to Huddersfield Town from his loan spell at Burton Albion and has since featured for David Wagner’s First Team.
During the Window, Jack Payne’s impressive loan spell at Oxford United was brought to an end so he could join Blackburn Rovers on loan. Whilst Under-23s, Jack Boyle and Dylan Cogill went on loan to Scottish League Two side Clyde FC.
Four of Huddersfield Town’s Under-18 players have gone out on work experiences spells to get their first taste of senior men’s football, joining local non-league sides Liversedge FC and Brighouse Town.
Jack Payne – Blackburn Rovers (Sky Bet League 1)
After making a loan switch from Oxford United to Blackburn Rovers in January, Jack (shown at the top of the article) has gone on to feature five times for the Lancashire Club.
The attacking midfielder made his debut in a 2-1 away win against Fleetwood Town and has started three Sky Bet League 1 matches for Rovers.
Jack is currently the third highest assist maker in Sky Bet League 1 after his time at both Oxford United and Blackburn Rovers. The 23 year-old has made 10 assists so far this season (nine at Oxford and one at Blackburn Rovers).
Blackburn Rovers currently sits third in the Sky Bet League 1 table with 63 points from 32 games, outside the automatic promotion places on goal difference.
Jordy Hiwula – Fleetwood Town (Sky Bet League 1)
Jordy has featured 30 times for Fleetwood Town so far this season, starting 19 times.
The striker has scored 10 goals so far this season in all competitions with his last coming in the EFL Trophy against Yeovil Town – seven have come in the third tier of English football. Jordy averages a goal every 256 minutes in the league and has also set-up four goals for his teammates.
The 23 year-old also started in the Cod Army’s Third Round Emirates FA Cup replay against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
Fleetwood Town currently sit 20th in the league, outside the relegation zone on goal difference.
Tareiq Holmes-Dennis – Portsmouth FC (Sky Bet League 1)
Tareiq is still on loan at Portsmouth but has been back at PPG Canalside recovering from the knee injury he sustained 39 minutes into his debut for Portsmouth in the Club’s 2-0 win over Rochdale on the opening day.
Portsmouth currently sit 10th in the Sky Bet League 1 table, five points outside the Play-Off positions.
Dylan Cogill and Jack Boyle – Clyde FC (Scottish League Two)
The pair moved to the Scottish League Two side on deadline day and have been used ever since by Manager Danny Lennon.
Jack Boyle made an instant impact at Clyde FC setting up the winning goal in a 3-2 win over Edinburgh City after coming off the bench.
The attacking midfielder, who can also be used on either wing, has appeared three times for the Scottish side, making his first start in the 2-0 win over Cowdenbeath.
Centre-back Dylan Cogill has also made three appearances for Clyde FC, starting in two of the games.
In both the games Dylan has started, the Scottish side has kept a clean sheet.
Clyde FC currently sits seventh in the 10-team league with 29 points from 23 games, winning their last five games – the first time this has happened for over 14 years!
Isaac Marriott – Brighouse Town (Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North)
Isaac Marriott (shown below) is undergoing work experience at Brighouse Town in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North (eight tier of English football).
Isaac started his first game for Brighouse Town last weekend (Saturday 17 February 2018) in a 3-3 draw with Bamber Bridge FC.
The midfielder was named as Brighouse’s man of the match for his performance on his debut.
Brighouse currently sits 18th in he league with 28 points from 30 games.
George Danaher, Olly Dyson and Sam Gibson – Liversedge FC (Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division)
The trio joined Liversedge FC, who compete in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division (ninth tier of English football), at the start of February on work experience to get used to men’s football.
All three have come off the bench for Liversedge since joining the Club. Both Olly Dyson and Sam Gibson featured in the Northern Counties East League Cup match against Hall Road Rangers as Liversedge won 4-3.
The youngsters came off the bench in the match, with Olly Dyson making an instant impact. The striker came off the bench and chipped the ball perfectly over the ‘keeper to score.
In Liversedge’s last match George Danaher was the only young Terrier to feature. George came off the bench in the 76th minutes as Jonathan Rimmington’s side romped to a 5-1 victory over AFC Mansfield.
Liversedge currently sits 13th in the league with 33 points from 23 games, however, they do have a number of games in hand over the teams ahead of them.
