The Terriers doubled their lead in the 56th minute; Alex Pritchard fed a perfect ball through the defence, which was met by Steve Mounié, who slotted the ball past the on-rushing Ben Foster.
Craig Dawson pulled a goal back for the host, heading in a Chris Brunt corner from close range.
