Year of the Dog celebrations take place this weekend

- Celebrations kick-off with a firework display at PPG Canalside
- Oriental activities planned for the AFC Bournemouth match
- Purchase Year of the Dog mugs and t-shirts from Town’s retail stores

You can get in the spirit of the Year of the Dog this weekend ahead of Town’s Premier League match against AFC Bournemouth.

The Year of the Dog celebrations will be kicked off at the Club’s PPG Canalside Training Ground as it hosts a firework display on Saturday 10 February 2018.

COME TO HTAFC’S CHINESE NEW YEAR FIREWORKS DISPLAY

The event, which is sponsored and supported by Club Sponsor OPE, hosts a number of activities suitable for the whole family will get underway at 5pm prior to the firework display which commences at 7:30pm.

Young Terriers attending the event will be able to enjoy rides in the fun fair and meet both Terry and Tilly the Terriers, who are also in attendance and available to sign autographs and have selfies taken!

The Town Foundation will also be putting on a special penalty shoot-out game for the youngsters as well as other activities.

Food and drinks stalls will be on hand throughout the evening, with live music and entertainment for the night being provided by Pulse.

Supporters shouldn’t miss out on the chance to watch the must-see Jin Long Lion Dance performance either!

Advanced discount tickets for the event are priced at just £3 for adults or £1 for Under-18s and Over-60s and are available to buy now at the Ticket Office or at the Packhorse Centre Retail Shop.

If you purchase a ticket on the gate at the event then prices will increase to £5 for an adult and £3 for an Under-18 and Over-60s. Please note this is cash only.

Following Saturday’s firework display, the celebration for the Year of the Dog will continue at Sunday’s home game against AFC Bournemouth.

The Club has teamed up with the University of Huddersfield to provide some special oriental activities in the Fantastic Media Family Stand prior to the noon kick-off.

SPECIAL ACTIVITES ARRANGED TO CELEBRATE ‘THE YEAR OF THE DOG’

The students from the Chinese Society at the University of Huddersfield will be running calligraphy and a ‘chopstick challenge’ for the youngsters, with Club Ambassador Andy Booth also on hand to meet young Terriers and take part in some of the challenges!

Terry and Tilly the Terriers will be joined by two Pandas to meet youngsters, and University of Huddersfield students will be pitch side waving Chinese and British flags.

All Under-18s will also be able to collect a special ‘Year of the Dog’ themed gift at the turnstiles, courtesy of OPE Sports.

Not only this but special products are also available to celebrate the Chinese New Year from the Club’s retail department.
