- Young supporters can have their picture with the Snow Lion
A magical creature, the Snow Lion, never before seen in Huddersfield, will be making an appearance at the PPG Canalside Fanzone, which is sponsored by Perrys Vauxhall, on Saturday 10 March.
Families will be able to get a rare sighting of the Snow Lion, as it joins the Fanzone as part of a Huddersfield Literature Festival (HLF2018) event in partnership with Huddersfield Town (HTAFC).
Accompanied by the majestic Red Queen and her servant, the Snow Lion is a gentle giant, created by puppetry and animatronics, guaranteed to captivate children and adults alike.
There will be two Snow Lion walkabouts at the Club’s Fanzone, the first will take place between 12.30pm and 1pm, with the second from 1.45pm - 2.15pm, both at the PPG Canalside.
Children will be able to have their photograph taken with the enchanted creature and the Children’s Art School will be on hand to offer free Snow Lion mask-making activities.
The Festival will also be giving away 30 copies of the children's book The Snow Lion by Jim Helmore and Richard Jones to the first to arrive on the day.
The Huddersfield Literature Festival began in 2006 and annually takes place in March, offering a diverse programme of events at venues across the Town.
The 2018 Festival highlights will include events with Town’s Academy President Sir Patrick Stewart, Jeremy Vine, Helen Pankhurst, Joanne Harris, Owen O’Neill, Lucy Mangan, Annabel Pitcher, Tim Dowling and Vaseem Khan, plus the Annapurna Indian Dancers and an Events Around Autism strand.
More activities at the PPG Canalside Fanzone ahead of the Swansea City match will be confirmed shortly.
