Huddersfield Town winger Isaac Mbenza spoke of his disappointment following the Club’s 3-1 defeat to Southampton at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Belgium Under-21 international reviewed the game with #HTTV and explained how it was hard mentally to go 2-0 down in the first half.

“I think in the first half we didn’t play very well. It was difficult because Southampton scored two goals and it was hard, especially in our heads after that.

“With the ball, in the first half, I was nervous and panicked. As a team we can’t play like this.

“It’s no good because we lost today, it’s no good for us, for me, or our supporters.”

The Saints changed styles under new Manager Ralph Hasenhüttl and Isaac explained how difficult it was to play against.

“Southampton is a team that is very, very aggressive, so for us it was difficult to play against to play against them.”

Town looked more potent in the second half and the winger revealed the impact David Wagner’s half-time team talk had on the players.

“The Head Coach said to us ‘believe, believe, believe’ that you can win; that’s why it was different in the second half.

“Zanka and I have occasions, so does Steve Mounie, we had chances in the game. We have to believe and play.”
