“Take the frustration on board and turn it into positive energy” said Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner ahead of Tuesday night’s Premier League fixture at AFC Bournemouth.

Town come into the game off back of a narrow 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at the John Smith’s Stadium at the weekend, having been reduced ten-men just after the half-hour mark.

Steve Mounié was sent off for Town in the first-half with Wagner revealing in his press conference that the Club chose to appeal the decision, which has since been rejected.

“We appealed Steve Mounié’s red card and hope to hear something back today. I’ve seen the video footage and still have the same opinion I had after the game.”

Wagner addressed the possibility of Aaron Mooy missing several January fixtures due to being away on international duty with Australia in the AFC Asian Cup, before continuing to preview Tuesday’s game.

“Aaron Mooy is likely to be away during January on international duty; we are aware of the situation. I’m only focused on tomorrow’s game and it’s about how we can cause Bournemouth problems tomorrow night.

“Laurent Depoitre has put in some good performances. If we are unsuccessful in our appeal, then he will be in contention.

“I think Bournemouth have improved from last season. We know they are very strong offensively and we hope we can keep them quiet tomorrow.

“In my opinion, from everything I’ve seen in the games and in training, we are better than we were last season. We know that the Premier League is much tougher this season.”

The Head Coach ended his Press Conference with an update on the fitness of his squad.

“Steve Mounié is a doubt and Chris Löwe won’t be in the squad even though he was in training yesterday; there is a slight chance he could be back on Saturday. There are some other knocks but nothing serious, I can only answer after training today.”
