Town’s Academy Scholars serve Christmas dinner to Accommodation Providers to say thank you

Huddersfield Town’s Scholars held a Christmas dinner at the Club’s PPG Canalside Training Ground on Monday (10 December 2018) evening to say a massive thank you to their hosts.
The Terrier Scholars come from all across the country, some live as far as London and others as close as the Lancashire boarder, but to get into Huddersfield and to the Training Ground near enough every day, it’s quite the task! That is where the Hosts come in.
There are six local families in Huddersfield that open their homes to the Academy players and let them stay for the duration of the season.
To thank them for their hospitality and the excellent support they give, the Academy players, with help from Academy Secretary Karen Jagger and Head of Education Mike Mawson, but their waiting skills to the test and served them a Christmas dinner!
It was an evening full of laughter and Christmas cheer, the perfect way to kick off the festive season.
Head of Education, Mike Mawson commented:
“It was a very special evening; the players and the families had a really good time and there were smiles all round!
“It was a great way to thank the families; they take on a lot by helping with the Scholars, so for them to do this it was great to see.
“We really appreciate all the work the families put in and it is really rewarding for them. We are on the lookout for more Accommodation Providers, so if you’re interested, please get in contact.”
Town is looking for more accommodation providers for our football apprentices!
